On Wednesday, August 14, 2019, the community of Gloversville expressed their condolences to Menzo D. Case’s family and friends following his passing at the age of 80. He died away at the Mountain Valley Hospice House, where he was attended to by his devoted family members.Menzo Case was the son of Douglas and Ruth Sweet Case. He was born on November 5, 1938 in Danube, New York, and he was their only child.
After receiving his diploma from Johnstown High School, he began his professional life working for the Lee Dye Company in Johnstown in the capacity of Plant Manager. Throughout his whole life, Menzo was a devoted member of the Gloversville Loyal Order of the Moose and was an enthusiastic supporter of the organization. His unrelenting support for the New York Mets and the Dallas Cowboys revealed the depth of his devotion to the world of sports.
The Menzo Family and Their Traditions
Menzo was well-known for his profound love for his family, a love that spanned many of the years and many members of his family. Angelina “Angie” Lucas, his longstanding companion and a constant source of support throughout his life, is the only person who will remember him after his passing. Menzo’s offspring carry on his heritage, which includes two sons, Timothy M. Case of St. Johnsville and Daniel Szabo of Gloversville, and five daughters, including Ginger Countryman (Michael) of St. Johnsville and Nancy Case of Johnstown. Timothy M. Case is from St. Johnsville, while Daniel Szabo is from Gloversville.
